Fat Congas® Cuban style quinto cajones were designed upon request, for the Munequitos de Matansas during their visit to our shop. The CJST slaptop quinto has a screwed on head which creates a "buzz" effect on the slap tones. The side wings help to stabilize the cajon between the player's knees. This cajon was designed with traditional players in mind.

Fat Congas® Cajones are constructed of the highest quality hot pressed,coloured phenol film, Birch plywood. Joints are lock mitered for maximum strength and durability. Our goal is to create beautiful musical instruments that are built to last. Careful attention has been given to developing a cajón drum that produces tonal qualities to fit a variety of traditional and contemporary musical styles.
