West Africa is the origin of the traditional Bata drums. These drums were brought to Cuba and the New World during the African Diaspora. Fat Congas® Batajón® are constructed of the highest quality Birch plywood. All joints are glued and lock mitered for maximum strength and durability. The Fat Congas® Batajón® closely approximates the tonal qualities of traditonal skin Bata.
